Overview
Urooj 9: A Study in Dynamic Shadows
Facing a narrow private road perpendicular to the main street, the facade of Urooj 9 turns a site constraint into a sculptural statement. To introduce dynamism to a hidden elevation, the design features projected stone cobbles that create a shifting shadow play throughout the day, ensuring the building remains eye-catching and tactile. The Duplex: Vertical Transparency Designed as a private sanctuary above rental units, the owner’s duplex prioritizes natural light through a sophisticated architectural kit-of-parts: Volumetric Light: A double-height cutout and central skylight flood the core with illumination. Material Weightlessness: The integration of glass floors and glass railings allows light to permeate through levels seamlessly. Functional Zoning: The first level houses the living, dining, and kitchen social hub, while the upper level is dedicated to a master suite, home office, and a large terrace.

I did interiors with yaseer, aqib, Heena Fathima(Studio Spear) and team. They were very committed. They tried to be responsible and made sure to explain everything multiple times. I got email invoices, detailed estimates with proper calculations. They came with me multiple times for material selections. Gave good inputs and ideas all through the project execution and planning.
